Claria Privacy Officer Named to Homeland Security Committee
If this doesn't disturb you, you need to get your head checked.
"The Department of Homeland Security named Claria's chief privacy officer Reed Freeman, a former Federal Trade Commission staff attorney, to its 20-member committee on privacy, according to CNET. The CNET piece heavily implies that Claria, as an adware firm that doesn't publish its own web content, is a "parasite" and that the appointment may be inappropriate."

New Video Blogging Service
Looks like there is a new service for handling video much as Flickr does for photos. It's called Vimeo and it looks pretty promising.

Open Source Wireless Software Available
I have been following the Muniwireless site for a short while and they have done a great job of reporting Municpal WiFi news and legalities. This is great news from the site:
"The Champaign-Urbana Community Wireless Network (CUWiN) has announced that its free open source wireless networking software is available for download. The idea behind this project is to provide a free wireless networking system that any municipality, company, or group of neighbors could easily set up themselves. Below is more information which I got from their press release (thanks to Sascha Meinrath for sending it to me)."
